My intensive Jin Shin Jyutsu sessions in Scottsdale, Arizona (Jan 2018)

I have been in Scottsdale a couple of times to get JSJ intensive sessions (twice daily, for 5 days) – I can really recommend it, it is such a great way to “pamper” yourself, relax and de-stress…
Here’s the website, if you want to go there:
But if you can’t go to Scottsdale for intensive sessions, you can always check out any Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner that is closer to you, it’s possible to work out a schedule with any JSJ practitioner, if you want to try the benefit of getting this kind of sessions.

I been in Scottsdale before in the summer, but then the temperature is so hot that it’s not possible to be outside for any longer period, this time I went in January, so I could check out the surroundings a little bit more.. I didn’t have the time to explore the mountains any closer, but they are really majestic!

Traveling to Scottsdale this time was a little bit difficult, I was caught up in the so called “bomb cyclone” (that is, a winter storm..) – my plan was to fly to Newark, then catch a plane to Phoenix, but the airport was closed, so they re-directed us to Washington DC, where I had to spend the night at a fancy hotel, before going to Phoenix. The hotel had swans in the lobby…Svanar

But I got to Phoenix the next day, here’s the view at sunset at my hotel

Utsikt hotell

And there were geese flying over the hotel every sunset…

It was in the beginning of January, so there were still Christmas decorations around the hotel

And with “natural” decorations

And the mountains were majestic

Sad news about Karen Moore

I got an email with sad news from the JSJ Scottsdale Office – I’ve been in Scottsdale three times to get intensive sessions, and had the great fortune to meet Karen in Scottsdale the first time I was there, and got sessions from her. It was really nice to meet her, she will be greatly missed! Here’s the email:

Karen was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and lived there until she graduated from high school. She received a Ford Foundation scholarship to study ballet and later attended college at NYU School of the Arts in New York City. After 12 years in New York, she moved to San Francisco where she took her first Jin Shin Jyutsu class with Mary Burmeister in 1987. Karen had been working at the Scottsdale Office since May of 1993. As well as being on staff as a practitioner, she was editor of The Main Central newsletter, oversaw the production of the annual class brochure.  Karen loved being part of the Jin Shin Jyutsu family and only recently retired.
We remember her as an efficient and tireless colleague, who was a highly regarded JSJ practitioner. For some years she continued her love of dancing (often displaying her flamenco skills), and enjoyed caring for her dogs.  We thank her for all she gave to the Jin Shin Jyutsu Organization through 24 years.  She is greatly missed and we offer our sympathy to her family, friends and coworkers.
In Love and remembrance,
David, Michael and Martha, Jody, Terry, Josh, Rachel, Ian, Marty, and Zoe the doggie

Back in Sweden again, after some traveling..

I have been traveling for a while now, started in Ireland in the end of June, where I participated in Sadaki Kato’s class – I recommend that class highly, if you have a chance you should go 🙂

Then I have been in the US for a month, I’ve started in Las Vegas for a couple of days, we were going to Grand Canyon, the north rim, so Las Vegas was a good starting point.

And then I went to Los Angeles, I’ve been there a couple of times before, among other things I have been in a class there with Wayne Hackett, and another class with Sadaki Kato.
There’s this statue close to the beach, at Venice Beach (or close to Marina del Rey) now I managed to take some photos – don’t know which mudra it is, though…

And then I went to Scottsdale, to get nice sessions from Terry Matthews and Ian Harris, it’s always very good, I can recommend that highly too 🙂
This is the view I had from my hotel room, this time:

And the last stop on my trip before going back to Sweden again was New York, one of my goals was to find the Strawberry Field in Central Park – I tried to find it last year, without success, since it is not very well marked, but this year I really made an effort – it helps to ask people who work in the park 🙂
And I started from the Dakota building at W 72nd street (where John Lennon lived, and was shot), then it was much easier to find it..

JSJ treatments in Scottsdale

So, my visit in Scottsdale came to an end, as for now… I can really recommend those intensive sessions, getting two sessions everyday for 5 days feels very special and relaxing! Last time I was in Scottsdale, in July last year, I was getting treatments from Terry Matthews, Karen Moore and Pat (she is 95 now, an amazing women who still gives treatments)
This time I was getting treatments from Terry and Ian Harris, very nice!

So Terry, Karen and Pat you can find in Scottsdale, as well as Ian, but Ian is also a Jin Shin Jyutsu teacher – I was at a five day class with him last May, and can really recommend him as a teacher too.
You can find more information about him here:
and information about his classes here:

But if you want to get this kind of treatments, there are many practitioners around the world that can do that, it’s not only at the institute in Scottsdale you can get it, it’s just to find a practitioner that could give you the time to do it. It’s nice to give yourself that kind of gift now and then 🙂

The end of the Scottsdale visit (for now)

I was getting my last Jin Shin Jyutsu treatment yesterday, can’t believe that it”s already the end of the week… Staying in Scottsdale for the weekend, but then I am going to San Francisco, to somewhat cooler weather..
If you have a chance to come to the Jin Shin Jyutsu institute in Scottsdale, I really recommend it!

Jin Shin Jyutsu In Scottsdale

I am in Scottsdale right now, getting two great JSJ treatments every day, for five days, this time I am getting treatments from Terry Matthews and Ian Harris, I highly recommend doing this a little bit now and then – and you don’t have to go to Scottsdale to get two treatments every day, there are many practitioners all around the world that could do that too!

And Ian happened to have a JSJ studygroup Tuesday evening, which meant that I could join that group too, a nice evening activity!
