Now Know Myself class in Austin, Texas, July 2018

I just got back to Sweden after spending some time in the US – among other things I participated in the awesome Now Know Myself class in Austin, with Wayne Hackett, Muriel Carlton and Carlos Gutterres – the NKM-class is always different, depending who is in it, and who the instructors are, so as always in classes, there will be some aha-moments

Next chance for a NKM-class will be in Münich, Germany 31 oct – 4 nov, with Anita Willoughby and Waltraud Riegger-Krause
And next chance in the US will be in Green Bay, WI, 10-14 april 2019, with Jill Marie Pasquinelli and Cynthia Broshi
And also Boston, MA 6-10 nov 2019, with Wayne Hackett Carlos Gutterres and Sara Harper.

You can find more information about the classes here:

Jin Shin Jyutsu classes with Waltraud Riegger-Krause, Oct 2017 – June 2019

I have been in two classes with Waltraud, one 5 day class and one self-help class, and I remember very clearly sitting at the first day at the 5 day class in England, when she made her introductory speech to the class, how I was thinking that what she said was exactly what I needed to hear right there and then, I felt that was why I came to that class. And of course that speech is different for every instructor (and even for the same instructor) – it depends on what students there are in the class, what the circumstances are in the world at that moment, and so on… it’s really interesting how all the instructors present the “subject”, I pay attention to that, I feel that there’s a lot of wisdom in those words…
And I hope she will give a class about drawing and deepening the of the Organ flows, in English – so far I’ve only seen that class given in the German language
And of course there will be more classes with her in 2019, this is the only one posted so far, but there will be more…

New Jin Shin Jyutsu classes with Waltraud Riegger-Krause 2016

I was in a 5 day class with Waltraud in England a couple of years ago, and remember I was thinking when she made the introduction to the class that it is amazing that every teacher bring their own “flavour” to the class, and it seems like what they bring is exactly what I needed to hear right that moment. Even if I have been to several 5 day classes, every new teacher I meet bring something different 🙂
And I’ve also participated in a self-help class with her, she was talking about book 1, but with the focus “stress” which was interesting, how to use that book in that way.
She has also made some Jin Shin Jyutsu flash cards, you can find them here:
and there’s also books (in German):

Recharge Your Body’s Batteries the Easy Way: Jin Shin Jyutsu® (Kathrin Stengel)

Recharge Your Body’s Batteries the Easy Way: Jin Shin Jyutsu®

Jin Shin Jyutsu thumb hold

The power of our hands is no secret to massage therapists. The ancient art of Jin Shin Jyutsu® takes this knowledge to a new level, offering an easy-yet-sophisticated self-care method that is accessible to everyone, at all times.

According to the philosophy of Jin Shin Jyutsu, we have 26 points of energetic density on both sides of our body. These points protect us from major energetic breakdowns, and are called safety energy locks. In case our energetic current isn’t in balance—on a physical, mental or emotional level—several of these points will lock, and dis-ease or discomfort will remind us to restore our balance.

The Key to Health and Balance

In Jin Shin Jyutsu, our hands work as jumper cables that enable us to recharge our body, mind and spirit and restore a harmonious flow of energy, which is key to health and balance.

For example, by simply holding your thumb, you can help boost your stomach and spleen energy and harmonize the plethora of symptoms that may occur when those energies are out of balance. Holding your thumb can assist in easing a broad range of issues, including upset stomach, nervousness and exhaustion.

Jin Shin Jyutsu chart

See the photo above for how to perform the thumb hold. Hold your thumb until you can sense a pulsing in it; or, if you don’t feel your pulse easily, hold it for about three minutes.

Once you perform the technique a few times, you will quickly develop an intuitive understanding of how long you need to hold it in order to feel relief. In addition to your thumb, you can perform holds on other fingers.

See the chart on the right for information on which fingers help balance different body parts, or assist in relieving worry, anger, sadness and other negative emotions. Gently holding our fingers addresses physical, mental and emotional concerns, as our fingers are the main entry points to all energetic highways of the body, such as the vertebrae, organs and emotions.

In addition to simple finger holds, Jin Shin Jyutsu also utilizes flows, intricate choreographies for our hands which help us take care of our bodily fuse box. You can learn these more complex practices and adapt them to your self-care routine by taking one of the many continuing education courses available.

For me, my family of five, and thousands of practitioners, Jin Shin Jyutsu has become indispensable, as we can apply it anywhere, anytime. Try it for self-care and tap into the repairing properties of this simple healing art.

Jin Shin Jyutsu organizers meeting in Seebruck, Germany (June 2015)

I have been out traveling for some weeks now, just got back to Sweden – my first stop on my journey was at the JSJ organizers meeting in Germany, where Claire Boelhouwers and myself were having a good time, meeting many of the other organizers from Europe, and a lot of the teachers. And of course David Burmeister was also there.
I want to thank Mona Harris for a very nice event, it’s not easy to pull of all the logistics for that amount of people, she managed to find a very nice venue, and make sure in good time that we had our hotel rooms booked, and had a pick-up service at the train, among other things 🙂
And next year the meeting will take place in England, I am looking forward to that too!

One of the things that is good about these meetings is that many of the teachers are there, so we can plan ahead for classes, meeting teachers we haven’t met before, to check out if it’s possible to invite them to our little country up here in the north of Scandinavia, to talk about scheduling and other things. I want to give you some links to the teachers classes, so you can check out their schedules for yourself:

Mona Harris (Germany) has been to Sweden several times, for a 5 day class, a selthelp class and a study group, and I have also been to a 5 day class with her in Denmark:

Ian Harris (Scottsdale, Arizona) has been to Sweden once for a 5 day class – and when I was in Scottsdale last December I got several JSJ sessions with Ian:

Mattthias Roth (Germany) haven’t been with us yet, but we really want him to come, when we can make it possible:
and here’s his websiteadress:

Carlyse Smyth (England) will be the next teacher to come to Sweden, we are in the process of scheduling a self-help class and a 5 day class, coming up during this year, and next spring:

Anita Willoughby – we want her to come too, she might be the next teacher to come to Sweden after Carlyse, we are in the process of scheduling her too… and I’ve been to a pulse listening/body reading class with her in Germany, and I also have been getting a session with her in New York City
and you can find her in New York City:

Nathalie Max (France) was with us, teaching a 5 day class last May:

Jennifer Holmes (New Zealand) – it might be a little bit too far for her to come to Sweden, but she has a daughter in Europe, so it might happen anyway 🙂 and since I like to travel, I might go to New Zealand for a class with her, it’s fun to go visit where you know people..

Chus Arias (Spain) – i tried to go to a class recently in Singapore with her, but it wasn’t possible at that time.. but since she is in Spain it wouldn’t be too difficult to find a class with her a little bit closer to where I am:

Petra Elmendorff (Germany) – I was at 5 day class with her in Denmark a couple of years ago:

Birgitte Meinhardt (Germany) – haven’t been to a class with her yet, since the language of most of her classes will be in German (with one class translated into French) – but if you know German it can be nice to go to her classes:

Waltraud Riegger-Krause (Germany) – I have been to a 5 day class with her in England, and also a self-help class in Denmark:
Waltraud also wrote the book/flash cards “Health is in Your Hands, you can find more information about that here:

And here are some photos from the venue in Germany:

Jin Shin Jyutsu classes with Waltraud Riegger-Krause

I was at a 5 day class in England a couple of years ago with Waltraud, sitting in that class I remember I was thinking that I was amazed over that all the JSJ instructors I have been taking classes with always have a little “twist” to presenting the class, in a way that I felt “this is why I came to this class this time, to hear these words”… and no exception this time, I don’t remember what she said now, but it was something I really needed to hear at that time…
And I have also participated in a self-help class with her in Copenhagen last May, where she had added the theme “stress” to it, how to use self-help to reduce stress, that class was also very interesting.

So, looking into what other classes she teaches, more than 5 day classes, Living the Art and such things, I find a lot of other interesting themes:
“Drawing and deepening of the Organ Function Flows”

“All Around Hands-On Practice”

“Neck, Shoulder & Spine”

“The Breath of Life through the Number flows. Deepening the Flows of Text 1 and Hands-On Practice”

“The development of mindfulness for avoiding stress and burnout”

And here’s the link to all her classes:

Deborah Beaton’s words about the Jin Shin Jyutsu teachers

I was trying to reblog Deborah’s post, but it didn’t work, so here’s the copy and paste thing…

And I have been writing a lot of the different teachers in my blog, and here’s Deborahs words about the teachers too – I have met most of them, but there are a few that I still haven’t seen yet, so it’s nice to read about Deborah’s experience with them 🙂

I’m thinking…

…about how fortunate, blessed I am.

I just finished my first 5-Day Basic Class with Ian Harris. As an instructor, he has certainly achieved his goal of teaching me to think, study, become aware. He is light-hearted and very funny but I think we need to teach him the “Sopranos” way of saying, “Forget about it” (that New York, Brooklyn, Bronx style of speech that movie mobsters use).

This was my 9th 5-Day Basic Class. Each instructor teaches the very same material, but from their own personal insight, experience and perspective.

Anita Willoughby was my first and seventh instructor. She is, to me, vibration: movement and music.

Philomena Dooley was my second and fifth instructor. She, to me, knows everything and runs a tight ship. She is faithful to everything Mary taught her. No pillows, no talking during hands on…I remember I had been in an accident, falling on concrete and slamming my head on a piece of metal as I fell. Ouchy! I had two herniated cervical discs and was in the middle of conservative therapy and was using a pillow to support my neck on the table. Philomena went from table to table making sure the students were okay with the selected flow and she approached the head of the table where I lay and stood over me. Looking down, she softly said, “have you injured your neck?” I was totally amazed. How could she know? I said, “why, yes, I have fallen and herniated two cervical discs!” She just looked at me and turned to the room and announced we should never use pillows unless there is an injury. Pillows were flying from tables (except mine) as she walked away, saying nothing more. Only after did I realize she intended a sarcastic remark that back-fired! I love Philomena. I’m “just this side of OCD” and keep a strict adherence to exactly what Mary wrote and said…just like Philomena.

I never had the privilege of being in Mary’s physical presence, but she has given me a tiny piece of her heart and I feel her energetic, spiritual presence whenever I give myself self-help or work with a client. She continues to be my inspiration. However, I understand from some of the stories Instructors tell, that Mary’s beautiful, smiling face with relaxed shoulders, full of joy, could be, ahem, abrupt. Don’t you simply love JSJ?

Michael Wenninger, to me, as an instructor, epitomizes Jin Shin Jyutsu in his Being. He exudes peace, serenity, humility and unconditional love.

Wayne Hackett knows everything – plus! He opened my mind to the relationships of JSJ with astrology, astronomy, numerology. At one of the hands-on sessions, he went from table to table listening to pulses of the student then receiving Jin Shin Jyutsu. I was on the table, resting my hands on my 14s and he came up to the table, listened to my pulses, gently spread the fingers of my hands and said “You have 5th Depth issues. How long have your little fingers been crooked?” I replied, “Since I was in utero.” He responded, “The fifth depth issues are generational.”  and moved on to the next table. Well, I stayed up most of the night going over my notes and literature trying to determine what could be done about this project. I found nothing. I needed to create a plan, a flow to end this generational issue! Surely there must be a book! In the morning, Wayne and I happened to be alone in the auditorium just before class and I approached him and gave him this long story as presented here to you, dear readers, and I said to him, “What shall I do?” He slowly took a couple of steps closer to me (he was on stage and I was below, by the seats) and smiled a little smile as he looked down at me and said: “Hold your little fingers” and then he turned back to preparing his presentation! (I told you I was just this side of OCD!) Jin Shin Jyutsu is simple. It is up the back and down the front. It is the smile. It is the dropping of the shoulders. It is the breath. Well, I don’t know…do you think I shall ever learn? Smile.

Sara Harper, who taught me the Living the Art so that I could teach Self-Help, has an unbelievable story of how JSJ saved her very life; yet she is sweet, and childlike and resembles a flower constantly opening and unfurling…just my opinion, you understand.

And then there is Jed Schwartz who is so experienced and New York City but often teaches classes in Woodstock. He is left and right and yin and yang, and up the back and down the front. (NYC-Woodstock)

Oh, yes and Cynthia Broshi and Susan Schwartz (Jed’s sister) – you just feel like you want to gently give them the JSJ hug!(9/26, 2, heart-to heart).

And, AND I have been honored to meet Sadaki Kato and am registered for his class In Morristown, NJ in November, 2014.

I love to:

“NOW KNOW (help) MYSELF, BE IT IS, IS. BE Infinite Truth, Infinite Self, Impersonal Self.” – Mary Burmeister

So, to all my dear readers, practice your self-help daily and be aware. Then you will be ready to help all others!

PS There are new materials available from Scottsdale (

“Zero to Twenty-Six excerpts from THE MAIN CENTRAL”, Waltraud Riegger-Krause’s book and card set: “Jin Shin Jyutsu Practicing the Art of Self-Healing” and a small laminated chart of animal SELs. I bought them all! I highly recommend them.

Okay! Everybody give yourselves the “Big Hug” and breathe…..

Jin Shin Jyutsu Self-Help Workshop „To Create Body Mind Awareness, Prevent Stress, Fatigue and Burn Out“

Saturday May 31 – June 1, with Waltraud Riegger-Krause
in Copenhagen, Room 430 in Nørregade 41

About the workshop
A weekend of relaxation and regeneration.
During the two days we will learn and understand the mechanisms in our lifestyle that lead to stress and burn out.
We will practice self help sequences and body mind meditations to bring back inner calm and peace.
We’ll also learn daily routines to harmonize our life energy and promote spiritual, mental and physical regeneration, which can be repeated daily in a regular way.
How can we enhance our creativity and „be the inner fountain of youth“?

About Jin Shin Jyutsu

Jin Shin Jyutsu® is an ancient art of harmonizing the life energy in the body.
It brings balance to the body’s energies, promoting optimal health and well-being, and facilitating our own profound healing capacity.
Jin Shin Jyutsu employs twenty-six “safety energy locks” along energy pathways that feed life into our bodies. When one or more of the paths becomes blocked, the resulting stagnation can disrupt the local area and eventually disharmonize the complete path of energy flow.
Holding these energy locks in combination can bring balance to mind, body, and spirit.
Jin Shin Jyutsu does not involve massage, manipulation of muscles, or use of drugs or substances. It is a gentle Art, practiced by placing the fingertips (over clothing) on designated safety energy locks, to harmonize and restore the energy flow.

About  Waltraud Riegger Krause
Waltraud Riegger-Krause was born in the Black Forest in Germany. After studying Social Work and working for an environmental protection project, Waltraud went on an extended journey through the U.S. in 1985. There she took her first class with Mary Burmeister, where she felt the impact of Mary’s words: “The journey lies within Myself to seek that which has no beginning and no ending.” Waltraud was touched by Mary’s teaching and her way of being. In the same year she also met her spiritual teacher, who taught her the Natural Path of Raja Yoga Meditation, which she is practicing till today. After remaining in the U.S. and studying with Mary till 1989, Waltraud returned to Germany to start her JSJ practice. Since 1995, Waltraud has been an instructor for the 5 day, Special Topic, Now Know Myself and other Special Classes.
