Margareth graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences, consequently her wish to increase her conscious perception through the study of the human body which led her to find Floral Therapy and Phytotherapy in 1991. Since 1993 she has incorporated the study of Jin Shin Jyutsu Physio-Philosophy, the Art of Getting to Know (Help) Myself into her work, helping people take responsibility for their lives. She also studies and practices the harmonization of interiors (Feng Shui). She is authorized by Jin Shin Jyutsu to present Self-Help courses (adults, children and animals) and is a Living the Art Instructor apart from being one of the founding members and mentor of Project Solidarity of Jin Shin Jyutsu Publications and Services in Brasil. Creator of the “Jin Shin Jyutsu SPAH” ( Sade/ Health, Percepcao Consciente/ Conscious Perception, Abundncia/ Abundance, em Harmonia/ in Harmony) concept. In 2004 she participated in the 1st Jin Shin Jyutsu Physio-Philosophy International Forum in Brazil, leading to the creation of the “Jin Shin Jyutsu once a week” in Porto Alegre. In 2011, Margareth was selected to become a 5-Day instructor.

Margareth’s parents are Japanese but she was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil where she lived almost all of her life. She has lived in Barcelona, Spain for four years. At the moment she is living in Sao Paulo presenting courses and giving sessions throughout the world.

Jin Shin Jyutsu classes with Carlos Gutterres Oct 2017 – Nov 2019

I had the good fortune to be able to attend a Now Know Myself class in Louisville, Kentucky, last year, where Carlos was one of the instructors (together with Jill Pasquinelli and Michael Wenninger). It was a really interesting class, and I hope to be able to get to a class with Carlos again. A friend of mine went to one of his 5 day classes, and said that she had a lot of “aha-moments”…

Carlos Gutterres is a Jin Shin Jyutsu 5-day class and Now Know Myself instructor.He is from Brazil and was born in Porto Alegre. Since he was very young he has had a deep interest in the mysteries of nature and the human being, and throughout his life he has pursued the study of philosophy, psychology, numerology, astrology, and Kabbalah. He has been associated with several philanthropic and spiritual organizations, including one that he founded.

After working in industry for two decades, he felt he needed a channel to express everything he had been studying. He found this channel in the healing arts, first learning flower essence therapy and becoming a researcher and practitioner, then Reiki, and finally Jin Shin Jyutsu. He developed a flower essences system called Vida. He is the author of many articles and the book, A New Purpose of Vibrational Healing. As a student and practitioner of Jin Shin Jyutsu in Brazil, he has been committed to sharing awareness of the Art through articles, talks, interviews, self help classes and study groups throughout the country.

Carlos lives on a ranch near Porto Alegre with his wife, Vivian, where he enjoys contact with nature, and in this peaceful place continues his studies.He has three children from his first marriage: Daniel, Leonardo, and Vivian.

Jin Shin Jyutsu classes with Jed Schwartz, Oct 2017 – March 2019

I’ve been to a 5 day class with Jed a couple of years ago, it was a very good class, Jed is a really great instructor, of course, but the thing that’s sticking in my mind after that class is the surroundings, the venue and to get there, it was an adventure 🙂 But that’s the charm of going/traveling to classes! This class was taking place in rural Spain, in between Valencia and Alicante.

and since Jed also has a part of his practice in New York City, I have tried to get a session with him several times when I have been in New York, but he is really a busy bee, his schedule is booked well in advance, so I haven’t been able to get a session yet 🙂 maybe next time…

Jed Schwartz has been a Physical Therapist since 1977 specializing in pediatric rehabilitation. He began studying Jin Shin Jyutsu in 1981 with Mary Burmeister and has been working with Jin Shin Jyutsu exclusively since 1987. He joined the faculty of Mary’s organization Jin Shin Jyutsu Inc, in 1995. Since then he has taught Jin Shin Jyutsu classes throughout North and South America, Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Jin Shin Jyutsu classes with Waltraud Riegger-Krause, Oct 2017 – June 2019

I have been in two classes with Waltraud, one 5 day class and one self-help class, and I remember very clearly sitting at the first day at the 5 day class in England, when she made her introductory speech to the class, how I was thinking that what she said was exactly what I needed to hear right there and then, I felt that was why I came to that class. And of course that speech is different for every instructor (and even for the same instructor) – it depends on what students there are in the class, what the circumstances are in the world at that moment, and so on… it’s really interesting how all the instructors present the “subject”, I pay attention to that, I feel that there’s a lot of wisdom in those words…
And I hope she will give a class about drawing and deepening the of the Organ flows, in English – so far I’ve only seen that class given in the German language

Jill graduated from college with a BA in Dance and became a professional dancer. She also studied theater arts, meditation, animal behavior, and various body and movement awareness disciplines. This combined with her childhood dream of becoming a detective led her to the discovery of Jin Shin Jyutsu. She brings this enhanced awareness into her teaching, sharing with students her delight in the Mysteries – of life, movement, energy, and a deep desire to live the philosophy and art of JSJ. Jill has been a student and practitioner of JSJ for 29 years.

The experience of dealing with a life-threatening illness 14 years ago led her to bring Jin Shin Jyutsu into a medical oncology practice. There she developed an integrative oncology program which has given her a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Art, both as a receiver and one who shares it through being in service to others.

Jill has learned that there are no bad days. Instead she sees the stark realities of life with a sense of humor and realism. She loves living the questions.

Jin Shin Jyutsu classes with Birgitta Meinhardt, Oct 2017 – July 2018

I haven’t been able to participate in a class with Birgitta Meinhardt yet, as she mostly give classes in Germany, and of course the language in the classes is also German, which I don’t speak (I can understand a little, maybe read the menus in restaurants, but not enough knowledge for a JSJ class…). But Ian Harris recommended to participate in a JSJ 5 day class where I don’t speak the language, to get information in another level, so to speak… so if/when I have the money and the time, it is an option 🙂 But it might be good to have some kind of rudimentary knowledge, to understand some words here and there – when I’m in Sadaki Kato’s classes I don’t understand anything he says at all (yet), luckily there’s translation… But German, French and Spanish classes would be interesting – and a way to maybe learn the language a little bit more!

Jin Shin Jyutsu classes with Nathalie Max, Oct 2017 – June 2019

We had the good fortune to have a self-help class in Uppsala, Sweden, with Nathalie Max, in the fall 2014, with the follow up 5 day class , in the spring 2015. Both classes was very nice classes, with a lot of people, and a lot of “aha”-moments – if you have a chance to get to a class with Nathalie, I recommend it! Nathalie Max was born in 1963 in Paris, France where she still lives. At a very young age she was attracted to drawing but her natural ability in mathematics sent her on a scientific path. In 1989, she was working in a science research lab when she took her first Jin Shin Jyutsu self help class. Nathalie states: ” From the very first morning, with the 36 breaths, something different happened to me that has never left me” At 26 she began her journey in Jin Shin Jyutsu It Is. and it is here she met her mentor, Muriel Carlton. In 2000 she chose to completely dedicate her life to this Art.

In her classes, her liking of exactness and simplicity is nurtured by a vibrant passion for the Orient and the Japanese culture, and when she attempts to go “behind the obvious”, “beyond the formulas ” or “to seek the invisible”, it is with her legendary humor that she enchants her students. Her teaching resembles her touch, it is with no pressure but with a subtle force she enjoys finding the words to wake up the Jin Shin Jyutsu artist that is in each of us. Facts about Nathalie:

Jin Shin Jyutsu classes with Iole Lebensztajn, Oct 2017 – Nov 2018

I haven’t been able to get to a class with Iole yet, and haven’t met her, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about her, so when I have a chance to go, I will 🙂
It’s also interesting that she is a doctor, to be able to see things from an allopathic point of view, but at the same time also from the “eastern medicine” point of view.

Iole Lebensztajn was born in São Paulo, Brazil. She finished medical school at the University of São Paulo in 1988 and completed her residency in Pediatrics in 1990. At the end of 1990 Iole was touched by the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu. She had always searched for resources that could promote healing in a deeper, subtler and integrated way, helping each person to be actively responsible for one’s own health. For her, Jin Shin Jyutsu integrates knowledge, concepts, and hands-on practices from different traditions and cultures in a very inclusive and unique approach.

Iole became an instructor of Jin Shin Jyutsu in 1999. She has a full Jin Shin Jyutsu practice in São Paulo, seeing clients, teaching self-help classes and teaching seminars for the Mary Burmeister Institute in Brazil and worldwide. Iole is Curriculum Coordinator of the Professional Practitioner Course and is the lead author of its new core curriculum.

I haven’t had the good fortune to attend a class yet with Jennifer Holmes, but I’ve met her once at a JSJ meeting – she lives in New Zealand, so the classes with her has been too far away for me, up to now – but I saw there will be classes in Germany, so there’s a chance anyway…

Jennifer has been studying the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu  for 18 yrs, with every year bringing new insights and discoveries.  She began a conscious spiritual journey in her twenties while travelling the world and working in Australia, the United Kingdom and Spain teaching children, and then adult language students  Meeting and studying with a spiritual teacher in Germany and then back in her country of New Zealand, Jennifer continued teaching, tutoring foreign students and rearing a family of five very active children.

In 1998 she attended her first 5 day class in Auckland and opened her JSJ practice, which she still continues.  In 2003 she travelled to Scottsdale where she met Mary Burmeister, beginning the following year as Organizer for classes in New Zealand.  In 2011 her journey as an Instructor for JSJ Inc began and she loves bringing the philosophy and practical help to many people worldwide.

She currently lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband John.
