Jin Shin Jyutsu Know Now Myself class, Louisville, Kentucky

I’m on my way now to Louisville, Kentucky, to participate in the class with Michael Wenninger, Carlos Gutterres and Jill Pasquinelli – I have wanted to go to a KNM class for several years, but haven’t been able to fit it into my schedule, but now’s the time 🙂
We will be 40 participants in the class, according to what the organizer Kelly Mount has told us, I’m looking forward to meet all wonderful Jin Shin Jyutsu people 🙂

Jin Shin Jyutsu Now Know Myself class in Louisville, Kentucky

I am going to Kentucky soon, to participate in the Now Know Myself class, I am looking forward to that very much! And I got an email from Kelly Mount, the organizer for that class, with some bad news, and good news – Wayne Hackett was supposed to be one of the instructors for that class, but have to cancel due to a family emergency, which I’m of course very sad to hear about, sending him my thoughts and prayers!
But the good news is that Michael Wenninger was able to come to the class instead, I have been to a class with him yet, and heard so much good stuff about him, so I’m happy to finally get a chance!
The class starts Wednesday the 18th of May – hope to see a lot of you people there!

Here are some words about Michael Wenninger:

Michael began studying Jin Shin Jyutsu in 1992.  He served on the Jin Shin Jyutsu Advisory Council with Judy Andry and Betsie Haar from 1999-2002 and compiled What Mary Says with Lynne Pflueger. He joined the faculty of Jin Shin Jyutsu in 2010.  Since then he has taught throughout North and South America, Europe and the Middle East.

Michael is a Zen Buddhist teacher.  He is a student of Qi Gong, and T’ai Chi.  He lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife Jan Quan and The Dharma.

Alternativ mässa i Skotterud, Norge, 28-29 maj 2016

Another post about the Jin Shin Jyutsu Outreach program

Some other words from the brochure about the MB-JSJ Outreach Program:

Since 2010, MB-JSJ Outreach has supported the Unconditional Love Program (ULP) run by Adele Leas (author of Jin Shin Jyutsu for your Animal Companion), the Alaqua Animal Refuge, Bay Correctional Facility, Calhoun Correctional Facility, and Walton Correctional Institution. Located in the Florida Panhandle, ULP sends dogs rescued by Alaqua to live with inmates. To be allowed in the program, an inmate must agree to learn and practice daily self-help for himself and his dog.

Each inmate-trainee has ten weeks to prepare his dog for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizenship exam. The dog must know sit, stay, down, and come, and behave politely when greeting others, even strangers. After passing the exam, a dog may be placed as a companion with a family, in a nursing home, or with an elder or special needs individual. The Wounded Warriors Program places dogs with veterans. One dog now does seizure alerts for his family. Some dogs go on to other training, such as search and rescue.

Jin Shin Jyutsu helps both the rescued dogs and their inmates-handlers release fear, let go of past trauma, bond to new companions, and adapt to changing circumstances. The inmates learn to use this Art to gain patience, understanding, and insight into what they and their dogs need to succeed.

Jin Shin Jyutsu Global Outreach: Prisons in India

I got this brochure from the office in Scottsdale, Mary Burmeister-Jin Shin Jyutsu Outreach, here are some words about what the outreach project have been doing in India:

“Prity Jani has been teaching Jin Shin Jyutsu self-help classes in prisons in India since 2008, including eight in the state of Rajasthan.Classes are offered in both men’s and women’s wards. During this time, she has taught several thousand inmates and officers.

MB-JSJ Outreach provides ongoing support for Prity’s efforts. Feedback from inmates expressed the inner peace and state of harmony they experienced as a result of the education. One inmate wrote to say “I know I can complete my life sentence in prison with the help of Jin Shin Jyutsu.” Officers also had positive feedback about the behavior of the prisoners.”

Jin Shin Jyutsu Global Outreach: Beshlaw, Egypt (2013)

I was getting a package from the Jin Shin Jyutsu office in Scottsdale a few days ago, I had ordered some self-help books, and included in the package there were some broschures, with some words about the Jin Shin Jyutsu Global outreach projects, here are the words about the project in Beshlaw, Egypt:

“In 2013, Mary Burmeister – JSJ Outreach partnered with Tatiana Contreiras and Mohammad Ali to bring Jin Shin Jyutsu to Beshlaw, Egypt, a small vilage near Luxor. David Burmeister and thirteen volunteers travelled from all over the world to offer sessions and self-help classes to the people of Beshlaw who lacked access to medical care.

Over the course of eight days the group gave hundreds of sessions to people from the village. MB-JSJ Outreach provided chairs, massage tables, sheets, and other items needed for sessions and the volunteers paid their own airfare and travel expenses.

Erica Ramos taught a three day self-help class to residents, who committed to share what they learned with others in their village. The class used self-help books translated to Arabic and donated by Samar, a volunteer. Another volunteer, Pietra, taught the Main Central, the fingers, and the Mudras to the younger children. The children became noticeably calmer and better behaved.

Long term, the goal is for Beshlaw to have its own practicioners. Volunteers hope to make annual visists to offer sessions and self-help training. The first 5-Day Basic Seminar is in preliminary planning stages. Beshlaw is a model of how to bring Jin Shin Jyutsu to other needy places in the world.”

New Years Jin Shin Jyutsu good wishes

When I started this blog a couple of years ago I  intended it to be a Swedish blog, but I realized quite fast that I have a lot of “visitors” from a lot of other countries, (so far I have had visitors from 118 countries…) so I try to keep my blog in English most of the time, sometimes there are things I want to share in Swedish – I hope that my English speaking friends can use translate.google for those occasions, if you want to 🙂

image
So I’m sending good New Year wishes to all my readers all over the world – this is a “Christmas tree” from the hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona (I was there last December) – if you haven’t been there I can recommend a visit!

We are going to have a 5 day class in Uppsala, Sweden with Carlyse Smyth, in the beginning of May (4-8) – I will most definitely be there, hope to see a lot of you there too 🙂

And hopefully I will be able to go to the Now Know Myself class in Louisville, Kentucky, in May, that’s my plan anyway!  I have been trying to fit in a NKM class for several years now, so this is on my schedule now 🙂

On the jsjinc.net website it says that the instructors for this class will be Wayne Hackett,  Carlos Gutterres and Jill Marie Pasquinelli (Holden) – I have been to 4 classes with Wayne, so I know it is going to be good, and I have a friend that has been at a class with Carlos, she recommends him too, the only one I don’t know anything about is Jill Marie, but I’m sure she is great too!

And Sadaki Kato is coming to Ireland in the end of June for a class – don’t miss that opportunity, I will be there too!

You can find the information about all the classes here:

Traveling in the US

I have been out traveling for a while, first I went to the Jin Shin Jyutsu organizers yearly meeting, this time it was happening in the south of Germany, hosted by Mona Harris – I wrote about it in another post:
https://jinshinjyutsuheleneiliste.wordpress.com/2015/07/16/jin-shin-jyutsu-organizers-meeting-in-seebruck-germany-june-2015/

Then I was flying straight on to Los Angeles to participate in a class with Wayne Hackett:
https://jinshinjyutsuheleneiliste.wordpress.com/2015/07/17/wayne-hackett-in-los-angeles-jin-shin-jyutsu-class-june-2015/
but I had some free days in LA before the class started, so among other things I was checking out where to get healthy food  – if you have been following my blog you know that I am really into healthy food 🙂
I usually try to find the Whole Foods Stores, and Trader Joe’s where I am, so I can find healthy stuff – there was a Trader Joe’s just two blocks from my hotel, and a Whole Food a few blocks from the venue, and I found a raw food place which was really good, at Main Street:
http://rawvolution.com
a
nd also a nice restaurant in Santa Monica Place, where the class was taking place:
http://www.truefoodkitchen.com
True Food Kitchen has several restaurants in the US, among other cities there’s one in Scottsdale, a good choice if you visit there 🙂

Then after the class was finished I went to San Francisco to visit friends – we were cooking a lot of course, and one thing that has become a favorite very fast is black bean brownies – there are several recipes out there, but it could look something like this:

(15 1/2 ounce) can black beans(rinsed and drained)
egg
3 tablespoons oil
4 tablespoons  cocoa powder
1 pinch  salt
1 teaspoon  vanilla
3⁄4cup  sugar

I use raw black beans instead, soaking them for 24 hours first, and then cooking them myself.. and I use 10-15 dates instead of sugar, works really well – you don’t need sugar.. and I use coconut oil.
I also put in a little extra things, like nuts, raw cocoa nibs – I am getting creative about that 🙂
Then put it in the oven:
Bake at 350 F (200 C) for approximately 30 minutes.

Then it was time to go to New York City, my last stop in this journey – I met the lovely ladies Susan Scanga and Carrie Strauch, the Jin Shin Jyutsu organizers in NYC, and had a very nice dinner with them, we had indian food at a restaurant close to where Carrie lives.
I also explored some other restaurants 🙂
Quintessence: http://www.raw-q.com
Candle 79: http://www.candle79.com
The food was very delicious, I can really recommend those restaurants!

And here are some photos from San Francisco and NYC:

Wayne Hackett in Los Angeles, Jin Shin Jyutsu class June 2015

So, back in Sweden again, with a little bit more reliable wi-fi thing, so I can start to post again…

The class in Los Angeles with Wayne Hackett was very nice, as always I am learning new things, but also going back and forth in “oh, now I really understand this”, and then the next moment “wait a minute, what was it again?”… but I will study my notes, and slowly slowly things are falling into place…
I have been at two 5 day classes with Wayne (Rotterdam and Hamburg), and last year I was in a special topic class with him in Belgium, “The breath that I am” (one day) and “Cause and Effect” (two days) – this time the topic was just “Cause and Effect”, and we were studying this subject for three days, so hopefully I have been deepening my understanding a little bit 🙂
Wayne also told us the exciting news that he is going to teach a class in China, in Taiwan, this will happen in August this year, and it will be the first Jin Shin Jyutsu class in China!
And he also was talking about Brazil, that the government is interested in Jin Shin Jyutsu, it is under “development” – I’m sure that we will hear more about it when it is progressing!
He will teach a lot of 5 day classes the year to come, and also some special topic classes, there will be a Now Know Myself class in Louisville, Kentucky, in May next year – I hope I can go to that one, have been trying to find NKM classes for some years now, that fits in to my schedule, and also is taught in English…
Here you can find the schedule for his classes:
https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=16

and here’s some more information about Wayne:
https://www.jsjinc.net/bio.php?id=16

The class in Los Angeles was taking place in the Santa Monica Place, in the Community Room, quite close to the pier/beach – Sadaki Kato’s class last March was more “further up” in the city, so it was nice to see some different parts of LA. And the class was also translated into Spanish by a really skilled woman (Claudia Escudero) – it’s not easy to hang in there, translating classes, but she did an excellent job. She is also a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner, and an organizer in Mexico, so now I have another place I want to visit 🙂
And here are some photos from the class, and from LA:

Jin Shin Jyutsu organizers meeting in Seebruck, Germany (June 2015)

I have been out traveling for some weeks now, just got back to Sweden – my first stop on my journey was at the JSJ organizers meeting in Germany, where Claire Boelhouwers and myself were having a good time, meeting many of the other organizers from Europe, and a lot of the teachers. And of course David Burmeister was also there.
I want to thank Mona Harris for a very nice event, it’s not easy to pull of all the logistics for that amount of people, she managed to find a very nice venue, and make sure in good time that we had our hotel rooms booked, and had a pick-up service at the train, among other things 🙂
And next year the meeting will take place in England, I am looking forward to that too!

One of the things that is good about these meetings is that many of the teachers are there, so we can plan ahead for classes, meeting teachers we haven’t met before, to check out if it’s possible to invite them to our little country up here in the north of Scandinavia, to talk about scheduling and other things. I want to give you some links to the teachers classes, so you can check out their schedules for yourself:

Mona Harris (Germany) has been to Sweden several times, for a 5 day class, a selthelp class and a study group, and I have also been to a 5 day class with her in Denmark:
https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=27

Ian Harris (Scottsdale, Arizona) has been to Sweden once for a 5 day class – and when I was in Scottsdale last December I got several JSJ sessions with Ian:
https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=20

https://www.jsjinc.net/bio.php?id=20

Mattthias Roth (Germany) haven’t been with us yet, but we really want him to come, when we can make it possible:
https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=35
and here’s his websiteadress:
http://www.matthiasjsj.de/site/

Carlyse Smyth (England) will be the next teacher to come to Sweden, we are in the process of scheduling a self-help class and a 5 day class, coming up during this year, and next spring:
https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=51

Anita Willoughby – we want her to come too, she might be the next teacher to come to Sweden after Carlyse, we are in the process of scheduling her too… and I’ve been to a pulse listening/body reading class with her in Germany, and I also have been getting a session with her in New York City
https://www.jsjinc.net/bio.php?id=10

https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=10
and you can find her in New York City:
http://www.nycjsj.com

Nathalie Max (France) was with us, teaching a 5 day class last May:
https://www.jsjinc.net/bio.php?id=47

https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=47

Jennifer Holmes (New Zealand) – it might be a little bit too far for her to come to Sweden, but she has a daughter in Europe, so it might happen anyway 🙂 and since I like to travel, I might go to New Zealand for a class with her, it’s fun to go visit where you know people..
https://www.jsjinc.net/bio.php?id=52

https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=52

Chus Arias (Spain) – i tried to go to a class recently in Singapore with her, but it wasn’t possible at that time.. but since she is in Spain it wouldn’t be too difficult to find a class with her a little bit closer to where I am:
https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=123

Petra Elmendorff (Germany) – I was at 5 day class with her in Denmark a couple of years ago:
https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=15

Birgitte Meinhardt (Germany) – haven’t been to a class with her yet, since the language of most of her classes will be in German (with one class translated into French) – but if you know German it can be nice to go to her classes:
https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=11

Waltraud Riegger-Krause (Germany) – I have been to a 5 day class with her in England, and also a self-help class in Denmark:
https://www.jsjinc.net/instructor-courses.php?id=13
Waltraud also wrote the book/flash cards “Health is in Your Hands, you can find more information about that here:

And here are some photos from the venue in Germany:
